Combining a passion for education and expertise in supporting neurodiverse student populations, I founded EmbraceAbility Solutions for Inclusive Education, a global education consulting firm based in Washington, DC. In the wake of the pandemic, students with disabilities need more support than ever. EmbraceAbility was founded to equip parents, educators, and district leaders with critical skills and strategies to meet the challenges of this moment. EmbraceAbility is focused on transforming education through the power of innovation and inclusion - one school, one classroom, one child at a time.
In the wake of the pandemic, EmbraceAbility was founded to support parents and help schools build back better. EmbraceAbility Solutions helps schools develop and implement inclusive practices and policies to level the playing field for students with disabilities, and raise the achievement of all students.
As parents, educators, and district leaders, we have seen the significant impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on Kâ12 student learning - particularly for students with disabilities. The pandemic widened preexisting opportunity and achievement gaps, and we are continuing to see the lingering effects of unfinished learning. Students with disabilities have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and have experienced more learning loss than any other student demographic. Even with the return to in-person learning, parents and educators are witnessing our vulnerable learners continue to struggle and fall further behind their peers. As an education advocate working in school districts across the country, I see overwhelmed parents struggling to navigate complex education systems to get their children appropriate services, and teachers and administrators grappling with meeting the overwhelming needs of students with significant learning gaps.
These critical times call for critical skills in education. I founded EmbraceAbility Solutions to help equip parents, educators, and district leaders with the critical skills and strategies to meet this moment.
With EmbraceAbility Solutions for Inclusive Education, I provide a framework for transformation to help parents, educators, and school leaders mitigate student learning loss for students with disabilities and ultimately help raise the achievement of all students. Through innovative and collaborative advocacy and coaching, I teach effective engagement for parents and connect educators with current neuroscience research and state-of-the art teaching practices. With EmbraceAbility, parents and educators can work together to ensure that all students can make meaningful academic progress.
